Death toll in Iran-Iraq earthquake tops 400, state media says

Devastation on the Iraq - Iran border.  Iran seats on top of a major fault line where earthquakes happen frequently destroying older builds.  The 7.3 quake killed over 400 people in the region and injuring 7,156 people.  This is a short story in the Washington Post.  Hopefully others will send aid or some form of relief to these countries.  It is a humanitarian cause to help those unable to help themselves.

An earthquake took place on the Iran-Iraq border and has a death toll rising to more than 400 and is expected to continue to increase. According to the Iran’s crisis management headquarters, 407 people were killed and nearly 7,156 people were injured. Mostly in the country’s western provinces. The earthquake reached a startling 7.3 magnitude and sent seismic shock waves as far as Lebanon, Israel, and Turkey. The earthquake caused fear and horror among the citizens of the countries affected. Unfortunately, Iran sists on top of major fault lines and has had earthquakes before.
