Texas Church Shooting
Leaves at Least 25 Dead, Official Says
On Sunday, September 17, 2017, a lone gunman open fired in a
small Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. Most recent reports indicate
that at least twenty-five people were killed. Sutherland Springs population
size is roughly 362 people, the amount of people killed account for seven
percent of the population. The gunman, identified as Devin P. Kelley fled to
Guadalupe County, residents in the surrounding area are being advised to stay
indoors. Officials are still in process of gathering more information on this
incident. President Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and Kevin Paxton, attorney general
of Texas have offered their support in wake of the incident.
