On
November 15, 2017, Dallas Cowboy running-back Ezekiel Elliot withdrew his appeal
to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals for a potential preliminary injunction and
will now start serving his 6-game suspension for domestic violence. This is the
end of a long fought legal battle between the National Football League Player
Association and the NFL. Ohio prosecutors didn't pursue charges due to conflicting statements and lack of evidence. However, the NFL's personal conduct policy is held to a higher standard than criminal proceedings and had a year investigation into the matters. Is it okay for private corporations to hold their employees to harsher standards than the judicial system?
