French police probe Interpol president Meng Hongwei's disappearance

The Chinese president of Interpol, Meng Hongwei, has vanished. Meng Hongwei wife went to the police in Lyon, France to report his disapperance. She said "she has not herd from him in ten days. She is also getting threats on social media and on the telephone. A statement was said that "France is looking into the situation of the President of Interpol and is concerned about the threats his wife has received...suitable police mechanism was put in place to guarantee her safety". The article said "Meng's vanishing act bears hallmarks of what happens to senior officials when they are suspected of violating party rules, usually alleged corruption". Meng Hongwei was elected president of Interpol in November of 2016.
