In a recent deal that the United States made with Australia to help protect the South China sea from an overwhelming oppressive presence from China, it appeared that the U.S. also managed to piss off France, a long time ally of the United States. Not only is China upset because, well the US is involved in their region of the world, but France also believes that the move by the US undermines regional stability and their own interests in the indo-pacific region. (Sound familiar?) In response to the move, France has cancelled a galla in Washington D.C. that was supposed to be held to honor the 240th anniversary of the Battle of Capes which was a turning point in the American Revolutionary War.
