More than 25% of Walmart's corporate officers are people of color, new report shows

Sergio Zambrano

This article talks about the increase that Walmart has had in the last month hiring people of color. The article explains that people of color represent more than 55% of Walmart's new hires between February and July. Also, they also represent more than 25% of retailer's officer positions. Walmart, in recent years, has worked hard to increase its diversity in higher-ranked positions. Jennifer R. Jackson, for example, a black woman, was hired in June as Walmart's newest senior vice president of enterprise strategy, mergers & acquisitions, and strategic partnership. As we talked in class in previous classes, this is a big effort by Walmart to increase diversity which can lead them to better success because of different approaches to new issues.
