Right now more than 55 million people worldwide have some form of dementia, the number is expected to rise past 150 million by 2050. Numerous studies have found a consistent link between nose pollutions to obesity, diabetes, and coronary heart disease. The studies believe that this noise pollution is especially detrimental while people are sleeping, since "sleep is the critical period for mental and cognitive restoration".

The study from Denmark included 2 million adults, ages 60 and older who lived in Denmark between 2004 and 2017. Subjects were rated based on their place of residents and placed on a scale for noise from most to least exposed. Studies on animals have shown that constant exposure to noise can potentially lead to the activation of key genes that potentially cause "neuropathological changes". basically, the "wiring" of your brain begins to get tangled.

the main issue with the study is that it does not rack for lifestyle habits, which more often than not plays a huge role in one's health. As of right now, there is a correlation between living near loud roads or railroads but correlation doesn't prove causation. Only time will tell.
