Today on September 28, 2021, top generals McKenzie and Milley of the United States Military told lawmakers under oath that they had recommended to president Biden that the US keeps several thousand troops in Afghanistan, back in the fall of 2020. The generals also suspected that if there was a total pull out of Afghanistan that the Afghan government and long with its military would collapse soon after. General McKenzie later states that he was present when General Millety made these recommendations and is sure that the president heard and deeply considered these recommendations. President Biden later said in an interview that he did not recall those reccomendations.
