'100 dead' in Indonesia air crash

By Katherine Brady

An Indonesian military transport plane crashes into village homes in East Java during a "training mission". The plane was believed to be carrying more than 100 passengers and crew. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the plane split apart in mid-air following a loud explosion. Then, the plane crashed and burst into flames. In recent years there have been a series of deadly crashes involving commercial passenger planes, and Indonesian airlines are currently banned from European Union airspace over safety concerns.
