Early Tuesday morning the Sri Lankan television stations began broadcasting images of who they claim to be Velupillai Prabhakaran, the leader of the Tamil Tigers. The body was found dead in a lagoon, contradicting earlier claims of the same leaders body being discovered in an ambulance destroyed by troops. The unique aspect of this particular claim is the id card which can be seen on the body, it is an official LTTE id card. Though LTTE has been denying claims that Velupillai Prabhakaran is dead, he has yet to make an appearance. If this body is that of Velupillai Prabhakaran, it could mean the end to this particular 'resistance movement'.
