President Obama has set new guidelines for when the United States uses nuclear weapons. Getting rid of most of the guesswork that's been around since the start of the cold war, he commits the US to not use nuclear weapons against countries that are in compliance with the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT) even if they attacked the US with biochemical weapons or a crippling cyber attack, instead going for "conventional weapons." I don't know about this...if a country hits the United States with a crippling attack of any kind I would want us to have the nuclear option available.
