In retaliation of the Boston bombings, a Muslim cab
driver in Virginia, Mohamed Salim, was assaulted saying that the passenger, Ed Doulburgh, called him a “jihadist,” and attacked
him. He was accused of being a terrorist and threatened to kill him, punched
him in the face and broke his jaw. The cab driver had recorded it on his cell phone.
The passenger said, with foul language, “You are blowing people up all over the
world.” Salim replied, “who me?”. “Yes you, have you read you jihad?”, said the
passenger. “So I’m radical?”, said Salim. "Yes, if you are a Muslim, you are a
jihadist”, said the passenger. The video went on with other racial comments from the passenger. Salim kept telling the passenger that he was going to call 911 and that everything the passenger was saying
was being recorded. The passenger punched him again before finally getting out
of the cab and called Salim an exported Muslim. Salim pronounced on local news that he was a U.S. citizen that served
as a U.S. army reserve soldier in the Iraq war.
