Qatar jails a Nepali teacher on charges of insulting Islam

Dorje Gurung, a chemistry teacher at Qatar Academy, has been jailed for making comments about the Islamic faith. Gurung, originally from Nepal, has been accused of stereotyping all Muslims as terrorists. Apparently, the article states that three boys of the Islamic faith provoked Dorje Gurung. Supposedly, the boys verbally and physically assaulted Gurung to push him over the edge. The Nepal government has now heard about the incident as well as his friends and they believe the teacher has just been misunderstood. Currently, Qatar is very strict with its freedom of speech.
