Job market scarce in Iraq

By Nial Maloney

In an article on CNN.com, they speak about how it is going to be hard for Iraqis to find a job after graduating from college. These job worries are top priority for many graduating seniors in Iraq. They are even outweighing the concerns about warfare and raging tension. In early 2007, insurgents attacked Mustansiriya University and killed 100 people and wounded 55 causing schools to be closed, but violence has started to taper out lately and many students are not as worried about said violence.

Many of the students believe that the Iraqi government will be able to take control after the American troops leave in 2011. Also, many students want to stay in Iraq and find jobs there and not be forced to go elsewhere for jobs. One of the students interviewed believes that problems still may persist but the situation is getting better. The main point is that these students want to stay in Iraq and will try to and that violence is starting to dwindle down.
