President Obama is going to name Utah Republican Governor Jon Huntsman as the next ambassador to China. This is a pretty big appointment, considering there was some buzz around him as a candidate for 2012 as a young (in politics, 49 is young) moderate, and popular Governor of the most Republican state in America. Huntsman very well could be doing this to further his ambitions, but it certainly is an interesting move.
Also, some American companies faltering here are now thriving in China. This is why free trade works.
