During the Labour Party's annual caucus this Thursday, Jacinda Ardern announced that she was stepping down. After six years in her role, Ardern has decided she can no longer fulfill her responsibilities at her best. Or, in her own words, "I know that I no longer have enough in the tank to do it justice." Ardern has had to tackle many issues facing her country in her time as Prime Minister. In doing so she has achieved global respect for her leadership, but has faced polarized opinions on her practices at home. Ardern's last day in office is February 7th, and it is unclear who will take over for Ardern until the outcome of the general election in October.
