Following the execution of a protester with duel citizenship in the U.K. and Iran, the U.K. issued sanctions on Iran and Iranian individuals over the execution. More sanctions come this week for human rights violations in Iran following the executions and the treatment of protesters in Iran. Some high up Iranian officials have had their assets frozen and more sanctions have been issued. The U.K has issued over fifty sanctions since the executions. Since September of 2022 Iran has been a topic of civil unrest after the execution of a women that failed to follow the country's strict dress codes. Many antigovernmental protests have been going on across the nation since September and they continue to go on as more executions are done everyday. By: Michael Gill
