U.N. is very concerned of the humanitarian crisis in Sri Lanka. A rebel group known as the LTTE (liberation Tigers for Tamil Eelam) has been fighting with the Sri Lankan government. The catastrophe of these groups fighting is in the strip of land known as the government-designated "safe zone" which has many civilians living there. President Obama is urging the rebels and the government to stop the fighting and let the civillians get out of the war zone with the help of red cross. The government refuses to stop attacking these rebels because it does not want to give the rebels time to recover and regroup.
A hospital in that region has been bombed twice already killing 49 people and injuring 86 people. A satelite image shows heavy shelling in the "safe zone". The Sri Lankan government denies that it used heavy weapons during the recent attacks and blames the rebels.
Both sides refuse to put an end to this.
