Pakistan’s Nuclear Arms Feared at Risk From Fighting

Matt Boguslawski

With Taliban and Al Qaeda pushing farther and farther into Pakistan, many US officials fear the possible consequences. The fear of having Pakistani nuclear weapons stolen during transport is on the minds of many. Two weeks ago the Taliban enter Buner, which is located only 60 miles away from the capitol of Islamabad where it is known that the majority of their nuclear weaponse are located. Another fear of the US is that all the sites of nuclear arms storage are unknown. President Obama responded to this information with the fact that security of Pakistani weapons is the main focus of the military. The Pakistani government is dismissing any fears of India and the US, saying that the situation is under control.
