In Colombo, Sri Lanka, there is a separatists group called the Tamil Tigers that is asking help from Britain and France to pressure the Sri Lanka government for a cease-fire. But the government is asking for a surrender from the Tamil Tigers and is rejecting any truce or cease-fire. The government though has agreed to stop using heavy weapons. The Tamil Tigers are slowly dwindling but keep getting recruits from the citizens. The government figthers are proceeding slowly because the retreating fighters are leaving land minds and booby traps and it is slowing things down. But the government is also surveying civilians to try and capture any rebels trying to escape with the civilians and hoping to capture rebels leader Velupillai Prabhakaran. But they believe Prabhakaran is still in the war zone. When the Tamil Tigers asked for help from France, they asked Sri Lanka to pause fighting so civilians can escape the war zone.
