Barack Obama: Spying must not hurt US-German ties

A controversial issue has been discussed a lot by President Obama and the congress. The issue of spying on the phones of those inside the territory of the United States. Recently it was published on the newspapers that the U.S. Intelligent Services was spying on the phone of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel. She accused the U.S. on unacceptable breach of trust. President Obama mentioned that this will not affect the U.S-German ties by any means, confirming that as long as he is the president of the United States, the Chancellor should not worry about this and there are some repairing to be done. Still there are some tensions not only among the foreign citizens visiting the U.S but also and specifically among the diplomats as well.
