The protest group has been pushing the objective of trying to shutdown Bangkok since monday. The actual numbers of protester has been diminishing since monday when there were about 170,000 protesters. The spokesperson of the protest group stated that the explosions were attacks on the protest groups, with the first explosion happening only about 30 meters away from the leader of the protest group. Nonetheless the protest continued and they marched on towards Lumpini Park. It's estimated that 8 people have died and 450 have been injured as a result of the protest since November.
