Deadly Attack at Kabul Restaurant Hints at Changing Climate for Foreigners

A bombing that left 13 foreigners dead has the international community questioning whether Afghanistan is safer now that the war is coming to a close.  The bombing that happened occurred in a restaurant known to be frequented by international visitors.  After the bomb went off, two gunmen with AK-47s entered the building and opened fire.  The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.  The event has left officials wondering if this was an isolated attack or if there are more to come.  Kabul, which up to this point has been a safe haven for internationals visiting Afghanistan, could be on its way to becoming another Baghdad of hotly contested land.  Because Kabul has been, up to this attack, the place where internationals could meet and converse, what this attack could mean for the country, especially if there are more to come, is years of set back dealing with stability in the region.
