Bowe Bergdahl is the only current U.S. soldier still held captive on foreign soil. He is being held in Pakistan and reportedly has been held there since June of 2009. The video was made by the Haqqani network, a group in alliance with the Taliban. The U.S. military retrieved the video and believe it was made in december of 2013. U.S. officials report that they make daily efforts to try to ensure the release of Bergdahl but are not yet successful. Given the fact that the U.S. has withdrawn their military presence in the middle east and with the growing animosity that between us and Pakistan the fact that Bergdahl is still being held captive is rather unsettling.
