The situation in Syria was and still one of the priorities at
the U.S. Foreign policy agenda. Finally, after three years of war, losing
hundreds of thousands of the Syrian people, millions left displaced among some
other millions fled to other countries, the U.S. secretary of state, John Kerry,
succeed on having a vote among the Syrian National Coalition over attending
Geneva ll peace talks. 58 among such Coalition voted for attending while some
other 14 members did not go for such idea. This considered to be a successful step
within the Syrian themselves to solve such problem after we witnessed the world
community unable to solve it because of the conflicting interests among the Security
Council members. Still there are some fears among the members of the Coalition
that Bashar Ala’saad might be included at any governmental transaction in the
future. They agreed that the negotiating table is just a mean to achieve the
demands of the revolution, which includes removing Bashar Ala’saad (The Butcher)
from power. Although they have the right to do so, but it makes it hard for the
negotiations to even start.
