Eye for an Eye

In Iran in 2004 a man had proposed to a woman and when she turned him down he threw a bucket of sulfuric acid in her face causing dismemberment to her face and sight. Over the years she has been attempting surgeries to repair her face and sight but they have been unsuccessful. Due to this horrible crime the man was sentenced to be punished by losing his sight. According to the Islamic law the woman is to go before a judge and forgive the man or take revenge against him. Through issues of human rights and sexism many in the Iranian society were against this law and her action that she chose to have on this man.
