Pakistan's parliament condemns U.S. raid, threatens sanctions

The Pakistani parliament on Saturday condemned the raid performed by the U.S in which the al Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden was killed. The resolution reached during the joint session of the parliament urged to review "Pakistan's working agreement with the U.S., demanded an independent investigation and ordered the immediate end of drone attacks along its border region." The resolution also threatened to cut off access to transit facility used by NATO to transfer troops into Afghanistan if the U.S fails to end drone attacks. This internal tension escalated days after the U.S law makers questioned how Osama bin Laden was able to Pakistan for years without detection. Although in public the two countries maintained the position that there is no evidence Pakistan's military or Intelligence knew about al Qaeda leader but internally the tensions are raising.
