Colombia's constitutional court has ruled that same-sex couples can now adopt children. In the past, same-sex couples could only adopt a child if it was the biological child of one of the partners. Now, in a global push towards marriage equality, Colombia has decided that excluding LGBT couples from being adoptive parents is detrimental to children who need families, even though they have not fully legalized gay marriage. Could the legalization of same sex marriage follow in Colombia?
