Militants Attack Popular Hotel in Somalia

Earlier today, an Islamist militant group called the Shabab attacked Somalia's most popular hotel called the Sahafi. The militants exploded a car near the hotel after ramming it to the front gate and then proceeded to fighting security after killing the hotel's guests and workers. This attack has resulted in at least 10 people being killed, one of whom was the hotel's owner, Abdirashid Ilgayte. This has not been the first time the Shabab have done violent acts in public places. The article goes on to state that as recent as this April, the Shabab had another mass murder in an university in Kenya, which killed around 140 people. The Shabab have also stated that they plan on making Somalia a pure Islamic state.
