The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been ongoing for about six decades now. Attempts to make peace have been historically unsustainable. The Oslo Accords, however, were a success until Yitzhak Rabin, the Prime Minister of Israel in 1995, was assassinated. This conflict only continues today.
A Palestinian drove his car into four Israelis in the West Bank, thankfully none of whom were fatally injured. The driver was shot by Israeli forces. It was then documented that later in the day, a Palestinian woman stabbed a security officer after he attempts to look over her papers.
How long will it take for these conflicts to subside? I have to wonder if these problems would be less frequent and less violent if Yitzhak Rabin wasn't assassinated and the Oslo Accords continued to create peaceful relations.
