Russian Athletes Part of State-Sponsored Doping Program

As of yesterday Russia secret service members were busted for intimidating workers at the drug-testing lab that looked at drug tests to cover up Russia's top Olympic athletes if they tested positive from the past winter Olympics in Sochi. They also used false results, names, and bribed agencies to make any violations private. Yesterday the world anti doping agency released this information and they also said that Russia may have been doing this since the 1970's. This especially raises concern because Russia did win the most medals in Sochi with 33.  We expect further punishment to come and the group that drafted the report suggests Russia gets banned from track and field events in the summer Olympics. Russia, without surprise, is denying these reports at the moment but they are hard to believe that it isn't true since Russia leads the world in violating rules. This may not seem like a huge deal to people who don't care about sports but sports is one way some people measure a countries pride and power in some cases. The Olympics is a big deal to many because they want to represent there country and show who is at the top. This is a big deal in Russia as it should because there known as cheaters around the world.
