GDP growth rate of African countries dropping by 64% is a real possibility due to the global climate crisis, regardless of the fact that they are the least responsible for the problem. They account for 15% of the world's population and less than 4% of CO2 emissions heating the planet. Under current climate policies, the GDP of eight countries (Sudan, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Chad, Djibouti, and Nigeria) could be reduced by 75%, potentially.
