Iran to hold public trials of 1,000 people charged with involvement in Mahsa Amini protests

There have been over 1,000 people charged with various accusations relating to the uprisings in Tehran following the death of Mahsa Amini at the hands of Iranian police. These charges include assault and damages to public property, as well as various other movements against Iranian authorities. Over the weekend, the head of the Revolutionary Guards attempted to end the protests with a warning and accusations that they were being influenced by outside forces like the United States. Despite this, protests have continued. A rapper known for being opposed to the Islamic Republic was one of the notable arrests. Toomaj Salehi has been very vocal and visible as the protests have gone on.
