Archeologists have found a comb from about 3700 years ago with a full sentence. The comb reads “May this tusk root out the lice of the hair and the beard". Archeologists are excited about this comb because it is likely to be one of the oldest complete sentence in Canaanite alphabetical script. The Canaanite alphabet was invented around 1800 B.C. and it is believed "to have developed the first known alphabetic system of writing" (Reich). As if that was not interesting enough, experts found microscopic evidence of lice on the comb!
