Armada of British naval power massing in the Gulf as Israel prepares an Iran strike

Battleships from from 25 nations are converging on the Strait of Hormuz in precautions of the latest threats that Israel is going to conduct a preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities. Western leaders are convinced that Iran will respond to such an attack by attempting to close of the strait, one of the largest trade corridors in the world, which sees around 18 million barrels of oil pass through it everyday. The showcase of military power will span twelve days, in which commanders will simulate destroying Iranian jets, ships, and coastal batteries. Western Powers have strongly urged Israel to defer from such a strike but Israel feels that it will be left no choice since western powers have not taken action. This article reminds me of what we were talking about in class with Egypt being one of the only countries in the middle east to support Israel and how Israel is largely unpopular in the part of the world. There is large speculation that Israel will conduct a strike before the U.S presidential elections, an act that would signal the failure of one of Washington's biggest foreign policy objectives.
