North Korea Rejects Offer of Aid From South Korea

Hopes were high that the tension that has been around for years between North and South Korea might calm down a bit after South Korea offered North Korea humanitarian aid in the form of ten thousand tons of flour, three millions packets of instant noodles and medicine, and also offered possible additional aid if the two governments met together. North Korea rejected the aid saying it was a meager and small offering and they were in no need of such aid. This is surprising because North Korea just requested help from the United Nations after their land was harmed by typhoons and flooding in June. This shows that the tensions between North and South Korea are probably going to be there for a while.
