Whether It is Safe For FBI To Head To Libya

In class last week, we discussed a current event that revolved around the issue of the offensive movie made by a supposed American. In class we discussed how this movie degraded the Muslim religion and how people in Libya reacted to the movie. We know that one of our Ambassadors was killed a few days ago in reaction to the movie shown. Now that it has been a few days, there is a debate whether we should send U.S. FBI over to the Middle East to investigate the murder that took place or if it safer to stay put while issues die down. In this article I found, FBI agents would like to put off the investigation because of the uproar occurring in Middle Eastern countries. One side believes that FBI agents should not be sent to Libya because they should not put agents in harm’s way with the way things are at the moment. They believe that safety comes first before anything. The article also mentions more facts about the background of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens along with three other Americans. It gives a little more detail movie issue and whether the murder was a planned attack. Getting back to the main focus of the article, it is believed that it will be safer to not bring many Westerners to Libya at the moment. It also concludes with some of the Abassador’s last thoughts.
