“At least 60 people were killed after a suspension bridge collapsed in India”

This week, in Mumbai, India, a suspension bridge collapsed.  At least 60 people fell into the Machchu river, where they were killed.  According to the NPR source, “hundreds more might be trapped underneath the rubble” (Kumar).  While rescue operations are still happening, Modi, the private company in charge of the bridge’s upkeep, has announced monetary compensation to families of those who died in the accident.  From an international perspective, I wondered how other actors would have reacted to an event like this occurring in their country—how would their actions differ from those of India?
