Armed Protests in Burkina Faso

 On Saturday, September 30th, armed protesters started a fire outside of the French Embassy. The violence was condemned by the Frhttps://www.npr.org/2022/10/01/1126403441/burkina-ench Foreign Ministry due to denying any involvement with the county's developing events. After the military overthrew the former president, Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damilba, tensions are still high throughout the country. Damilba had promised his people to end Islamic extremist violence that forced millions to flee their homes. The military, Junta, plans to restore Burkina Faso to a peaceful country, but it is uncertain if they will fulfill their goal. The African Union plans to reinforce a  constitution by July 2023. The United States has stated that they are "deeply concerned" with the events, and France also came out with statements.
