Boris Johnson drops out of race to return as UK’s next prime minister

After Liz Truss left her position as the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has been the top nominee to replace her in this position. Although Johnson had spent the past week trying to gain conservative support, he has decided to drop out of the race for Prime Minister due to a divided Conservative party.

Boris exclaimed, "you can’t govern effectively unless you have a united party in Parliament", and that a general election would be too much of a distraction when the parliament needs to focus on the economic crisis spread across the country.

Johnson makes it clear that he would've had a clean sweep Conservative victory, but Sky News exclaimed how Johnson would've been bound to implode, which would be especially detrimental in the economic situation the country is facing now.
