To reinforce the fighting in Ukraine, Putin has withdrawn important military equipment and troops from Syria. This may be an example of how the war with Ukraine is weakening the Russian presence elsewhere. Russia has always been one of the important parties in the region supporting the Syrian government. Although it still maintains many military forces, it could be a preview of what is to come. The Russian withdrawal could mean a change in the position of Israel, which is also influenced by the support that Iran is providing to Putin.
