Human rights activists in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus win the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize: Ales Bialiatski from Belarus, the Russian human rights organization Memorial, and the Ukrainian human rights organization Center for Civil Liberties were announced as the 2022 winners at a ceremony in Oslo.
This year's laureates represent the civil society of their countries very proudly. Similarly, with this award they vindicate all their internal work when it comes to documenting war crimes, human right abuses and the abuse of power. Consequently, they want to highlight the importance of peace and democracy to civil society at this current critical moment of the history of International Relations.
