French People Protest Over Inflation

French people crowd the streets of Paris on Sunday, October 16, in anger over the rising prices. There were estimated to be over 140,000 people with few outbreaks of vandalism including garbage bins set on fire. The protest was for a wage increase and the fuel shortage. The gasoline shortage has left employees struggling to find ways to get to work. A lawmaker left-wing party insoumise, Christophe Bex, called the march, "a demonstration of strength." In addition, many believe the French president, Macron, is causing chaos in France. However, he stated that the conflict should be resolved by next week.
