Turmoil in Central Asia

Violence and chaos has erupted in Bishek, the capital city of Kyrgystan in Central Asia. Controversy facing current president Kurmanbek Bakiyev over corruption claims and rising costs has led many citizens to protest and revolt against the current government in hopes of setting up a "people's government." The whereabouts of members of the Kyrgyz government, including the president, are unknown as violence continues and the deaths of protesters continue to rise in three separate cities where turmoil is occurring. This unrest is also of great importance to America as Kyrgystan is home to a US military base and is used to supply troops fighting in Afghanistan.
