US and Russia to sign nuclear arms treaty

US President Barack Obama and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev are due to sign a landmark nuclear arms treaty in the Czech capital Prague. By signing this treaty the United States and Russia, the two largest nuclear superpowers are sending a message to the rest of the world that they are ready to "lead". This is a huge step for both the US and Russia because this treaty will be the most comprehensive weapons control agreement in nearly two decades, and it will mark a new level of trust between them. By doing so they will set the new bar worldwide for nuclear stock hold, assuming that both of them uphold the agreement. One thing that could endanger the entire treaty is if Obama continues with his missile shield plan, which Russia was quite unhappy about. This treaty could either end nuclear warfare once and for all, which was Obama's intention all along, or it will backfire on him and possible lead to another nuclear conflict.
