Hurricane Mathew Threatens Haiti, Cuba and Jamaica

Hurricane Mathew is slowly pushing it's way towards Haiti, Cuba and Jamaica. The category four hurricane had reported winds of 145 MPH today. The center is expected to be very close to Haiti tomorrow and reach Cuba on Tuesday. Experts say the southwestern tip of Haiti is expected to get his the worst with combinations of winds and rain. Haiti's civil protection agency said there are roughly 1,300 emergency shelters across the country, enough to protect about 340,000 people. The impoverished country is very prone to flooding because of the steep terrain, mountains and hillsides. Cuban authorities have stated the hurricane will be "twice as powerful as Sandy".
