On Saturday, April 5th, a Chinese vessel detected an unidentified pulse signal on Saturday in the Southern Indian Ocean. There is no proof that it is related to the missing Malaysian Airline Flight 370 but people are hopeful. However, the signal could be related to other maritime locating devices. The plane's flight recorders are expected to be running low on batteries and the signal could possibly die this weekend. Earlier reports of debris from the plane turned out to be false. The predicted location of the plane is very large and several currents are dragging in other unrelated debris, making the search harder. The best hope to find the plane, may be the sonar system such as a black-box.
