U.S. failed to Bring Social Media site to Cuba

This past week, the U.S. has admitted it tried to create a social media site called "ZunZuneo" in Cuba, but after four years, the program has failed. Some speculate that this as an attempt to create unrest and give revolutionaries a venue to express their sentiments. Although the U.S. the states the site was created to share simple things like soccer scores and the weather, given the use of social media in recent years to stir unrest in countries, social media has become a platform for change. I see this reflecting both Liberalism and Realism. On the Liberalism side, people have been using social media in order to come together and work towards (at least politically) a more peaceful and prosperous world. On the other hand, if those were the U.S.'s intentions it just seems like it would be created more violence in the short term. It is not the sense of morality that drives the Obama administration to  help give a medium for revolutionaries. It is in their self-interest to create a bridge between the U.S. and Cuba that has long been severed.
