Nine British marines were detained for suspicion related to a death in Afghanistan last year. Four of them were later released with no charges, but five of them were charged with murder of a man simply labeled as an "insurgent". Reports show that there is a video of the marines discussing whether or not they should give the man medical help or let him die. He later died. This story has caused commotion throughout the world especially in Britain where the marines are from. A Facebook page in support of the marines was made and quickly reached close to 40,000 members. The Facebook page says,
"This page is set up to show support for the seven Royal Marine Commandos arrested for murder for an event which happened in Afghanistan 2011 where no civilians were injured and one gunman was killed who shot at them FIRST" It will be interesting to follow this story and see what kind of sentence, if any these marines recieve and if there is any more details about the incident that will come out in the future.
