Pakistani Girl Shot by Taliban Was Named for a Battlefield Heroine

Malala Yousafzai, the girl shot by the Taliban, has a 50-50 chance of living. Currently, she is stable but still unconscious. She will have to be transported to a different country for better healthcare. Even Obama has offered to have her air lifted over to America for one of the hospitals here. The Taliban has admitted the attack on Malala. The spokeman for the Taliban even stated that once she is better, they will attack Malala again. Her father has been on the Taliban attack list for a while. He is on this list because he is in charge of a school for girls. The Taliban had decided to attack Malala first, then go after Ziauddin, Malala's father. Ironically, Malala is named after an Afgan herione. This Afgan heroine died in battle, but she was a fierce fighter.
